POSITION SUMMARY
Ohio Christian University seeks an Adjunct Professor of Piano for the Circleville Campus to teach beginning to moderately advanced piano lessons. Most students will be music or worship majors who are working toward proficiency requirements. Worship majors follow their proficiency sequence with a semester of instruction in worship keyboard. Other students enroll in piano lessons for elective credit. Typical enrollment is about 10 half-hour lessons per 15-week semester.
The assignment includes these courses, depending on interest and enrollment each semester:
- MUS1700 Beginning Piano Class
- MUS1710 Applied Piano I
- MUS3710 Applied Piano II
- MUS1350 Worship Keyboard I
- MUS3350 Worship Keyboard II
The ideal candidate will have aptitude for teaching both beginning piano and contemporary worship keyboard. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience both in teaching piano, especially in higher education, and playing in a contemporary worship band or similar setting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop students? functional use of keyboard skills as a foundation for ministry and service through music, with the purpose of
- Building confidence and joy in the use of these skills for ministry and service.
- Supporting students? development and professionalism as a musician.
- Assess student learning and performance and provide feedback to students.
- Integrate the Christian worldview in students? learning.
- Update and publish the course syllabus each semester.
- Enter grades and attendance in OCU?s learning management system, Brightspace D2L.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Skills:
- Ability to play piano and keyboard in worship ministry keyboard
- Ability to teach beginning piano.
- Experience: Experience in piano instruction and participation in a worship band or similar ensemble.
- Education: A Master?s degree in music or a closely related field is preferred.
