Director of Instrumental Music (Grades 5-12)

The Opportunity: Notre Dame Schools seeks a collaborative and engaging Director of Instrumental Music (Grades 5-12) to support our students as they pursue musical excellence and prepare for lives of leadership and service.

The Role:

Provide instrumental music instruction for students in grades 5–12 at one campus location. This includes leading grade-level band classes for 5th grade, 6th grade, combined 7th/8th grade, and high school stage band. All ensembles perform in semester concerts. Additional teaching responsibilities include high school ukulele classes.
Director of the Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Marching Band after school program with staff support (additional stipend), including home and away football games, Aurora Fall Band Festival, Geauga County Fair and Cleveland St. Patrick’s Day parades.
Support choral departmental colleague as needed for concerts and music ministry.
Annual musical support (additional stipend), including organizing and playing in the pit orchestra, involving student participants where possible and coordinating hires.
Collaboration with the Band Booster organization for compliance with school expectations and policies.

Qualifications:

Undergraduate or graduate degree in music education.
Appropriate licensure from the State of Ohio.
Prior teaching experience is preferred, but not required.

Reports To: NDCL Principal

Status: Full-Time, salary commensurate with education and experience.
