Job Summary — NXE Up
NXE Up is seeking a forward-thinking Music Executive (A&R) to lead our artist discovery and development initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring proven major-label experience, a sharp ear for talent, and a deep understanding of what makes artists commercially and culturally impactful.
This role focuses heavily on talent scouting and signing through the NXE Up platform, building strong relationships with artists, and helping shape the creative direction of projects that reflect NXE Up’s mission to empower the next generation of independent stars.
Core Responsibilities
- Scout and sign top-tier emerging artists through the NXE Up ecosystem and external networks.
- Evaluate music submissions and identify artists with commercial potential and brand alignment.
- Maintain strong relationships with artists, managers, and producers to facilitate signings and collaborations.
- Oversee artist development, from early discovery to project rollout and label partnership readiness.
- Work closely with the NXE Up leadership team to align signings with company vision, growth goals, and market trends.
- Collaborate with marketing and distribution partners to ensure each signing receives tailored release strategies.
- Track performance metrics and analyze trends to refine scouting criteria and strengthen signing outcomes.
- Represent NXE Up at industry events, showcases, and talent discovery platforms.
Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of experience at a major record label (Atlantic, Def Jam, Republic, Interscope, RCA, etc.) or reputable management company.
- Proven success in identifying and signing breakout talent.
- Deep understanding of music market dynamics, artist branding, and audience development.
- Strong industry network spanning artists, producers, songwriters, and management teams.
- Excellent ear for music and instinct for marketable records.
- Ability to analyze data and audience metrics to support signing decisions.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with artists and partners.
- Passionate about discovering raw talent and developing them into culturally relevant artists.

Pay: $50,227.95 - $60,489.58 per year
