Production Assistant (Administrative / Music) / Growth to Business Manager
Sonic Union is seeking an Administrative Assistant, Music, to join our New York team. This individual will be integral in supporting our production, music licensing, and administration projects. The ideal candidate would be someone who can be a dedicated assistant, interested in learning about music for advertising, and looking to work in a flexible, around-the-clock, fast-paced setting. Our Admin Assistant will work closely with our Executive Creative Director, Music Producer, Creative Director, Engineers, and music contacts (composers, artists, labels, publishers, managers). In-depth knowledge about the music business is not required. Still, candidates should generally be fast learners and interested in the legalities and administration behind music, as well as the creative process of pairing music and picture. Applicants should expect a hybrid office schedule, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
The Role
Seeking a Production Assistant specializing in administrative and music-related tasks. The Production Assistant will be responsible for assisting with production processes, maintaining quality control, liaising with clients and team members, supporting music editing work, and contributing to collaborative projects. Daily tasks include coordinating schedules, providing administrative support, ensuring project deliverables meet established standards, and assisting teams with task execution.
- Serve as a production admin assistant to our ECD and Music Producer, and others
- Reach out to both rights holders and composers for music searches, track vetting, and information.
- Upload and file organization of various assets
- Maintain internal communication for website, social media, and music reels with new work.
- Think creatively, work collaboratively, and use problem-solving
- Additional supportive tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Passion or experience in music, film, and art or media production.
- 1-2 years of experience in music industry-related work (music supervision, management, publishing, label, studio work, etc).
- Familiarity with Google Drive, DISCO, Interdubs, MailChimp, Slack, Xytech, Pipedrive
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Self-starter mentality.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills demonstrated as clear, well organized and concise.
- Ability to prioritize short-term and long-term goals and juggle many moving parts at once
- Proficiency in Production Assistance and experience with maintaining Quality Control standards
- Strong Customer Service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and maintain professional relationships
- Teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience or educational background in production, media, or related fields is a plus

Compensation/Salary: $58,000-$62,000 commensurate with experience.
Paid time off: 10 days/year
