Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced A&R Executive to join our leadership team at NxeUp, our new artist development and discovery label. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in scouting, signing, and developing talent—either through their own label or in a senior role at a major record label. This position is designed for a seasoned professional who understands both the creative and business sides of music and is passionate about building the next generation of music discovery experiences.
The A&R Executive will play a key role in expanding NxeUp’s roster of artists and helping to recruit additional A&Rs to the label. This individual will also collaborate closely with our team to shape the NxeUp platform—a cutting-edge ecosystem designed to help A&Rs host live music review sessions and discover emerging talent at scale via Twitch, Zoom, or Instagram. Responsibilities
- Identify, sign, and develop emerging talent across multiple genres.
- Lead and mentor a growing team of A&Rs, overseeing talent discovery and onboarding.
- Collaborate on the creative direction and strategic rollout of new artist signings.
- Partner with marketing, distribution, and creative teams to build successful artist campaigns.
- Help design and expand the NxeUp platform, contributing creative and operational insights to improve A&R-driven music discovery at scale.
- Manage relationships with artists, managers, and agencies to ensure long-term partnerships.
- Host or curate virtual and live music review sessions on Twitch, Zoom, or Instagram to discover new artists.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deals, negotiations, and talent development roadmaps.
- Support overall label strategy, release planning, and partnership initiatives.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of A&R experience at a major label, indie label, or as an independent label owner.
- Proven ability to discover and sign commercially successful artists.
- Strong network within the music industry (artists, producers, executives, and agencies).
- Experience leading or mentoring A&R teams preferred.
- Deep understanding of music marketing, artist development, and current industry trends.
- Ability to assess both creative potential and commercial viability in new talent.
- Comfortable hosting and leading interactive sessions (Twitch, Zoom, Instagram Live, etc.).
