Job Title: Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) – Behavioral Health Specialist

Location: Zanesville, OH

Shift: Day Shift with some evening hours, 40 hours/week, with weekend and holiday rotation

Job Type: Full-time

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) to join our team as a Behavioral Health Specialist in a free-standing behavioral health facility. The ideal candidate will work with children, adolescents, and adults, providing therapeutic music interventions to promote emotional, cognitive, and social well-being. This is a full-time position with a primary day shift, with some evening hours required, as well as weekend and holiday rotations. New graduates who have obtained certification are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group music therapy sessions for children, adolescents, and adults with various behavioral health needs.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that incorporate music therapy techniques to support emotional regulation, social skills, communication, and behavioral management.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care and treatment.
Document and maintain accurate patient records, progress notes, and treatment plans in accordance with facility guidelines and regulations.
Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development activities.
Engage in regular supervision and continuous learning to maintain and enhance music therapy skills.
Comply with all facility policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations regarding patient care and confidentiality.

Qualifications:

Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC) required.
Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or related field.
Previous experience working in a behavioral health or clinical setting is preferred, but new graduates will be considered.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to work with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults.
Knowledge of music therapy techniques and their application in a behavioral health setting.
Flexibility to work a rotating schedule, including some evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
