Job Title: Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) – Behavioral Health Specialist

Shift: Day Shift with some evening hours, 40 hours/week, with weekend and holiday rotation

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) to join our team as a Behavioral Health Specialist in a free-standing behavioral health facility. The ideal candidate will work with children, adolescents, and adults, providing therapeutic music interventions to promote emotional, cognitive, and social well-being. This is a full-time position with a primary day shift, with some evening hours required, as well as weekend and holiday rotations. New graduates who have obtained certification are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group music therapy sessions for children, adolescents, and adults with various behavioral health needs.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that incorporate music therapy techniques to support emotional regulation, social skills, communication, and behavioral management.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care and treatment.
- Document and maintain accurate patient records, progress notes, and treatment plans in accordance with facility guidelines and regulations.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development activities.
- Engage in regular supervision and continuous learning to maintain and enhance music therapy skills.
- Comply with all facility policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations regarding patient care and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC) required.
- Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or related field.
- Previous experience working in a behavioral health or clinical setting is preferred, but new graduates will be considered.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults.
- Knowledge of music therapy techniques and their application in a behavioral health setting.
- Flexibility to work a rotating schedule, including some evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
