Role Overview

Music Label Co. is seeking a motivated A&R Scout who specializes in finding and signing songwriters and producers. This is a commission-only role where your earnings are directly tied to the deals you help bring in and close. You will actively scout new talent and help create opportunities with our internal team and external industry relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Scout emerging and established songwriters and producers across DSPs, social platforms, local scenes, and online communities.
Identify, pitch, and help sign writers and producers to Music Label Co.’s publishing and production roster.
Maintain a detailed pipeline of prospective talent, including links, notes, and status updates.
Build and nurture relationships with external A&Rs, managers, producers, and music supervisors to help secure cuts and placements.
Attend in-office A&R meetings, and strategy sessions 3 days per week (Friday required; other 2 days to be coordinated).
Provide regular reports on scouting activity, meetings, and potential signings.

Schedule & Work Environment

In-office: 3 days per week at our Clifton, NJ office/studio.
Friday is a mandatory work day; the other 2 in-office days will be scheduled with the team.
Additional scouting and networking activities may take place at shows, events, or online, as your schedule allows.

Compensation (Commission Only – No Base Pay)

This is a commission-only role with no salary or hourly pay.
Revenue generated from those signings, which may include publishing income, sync fees, production fees, and/or other deal structures as applicable.
Exact commission percentages, qualifying activities, and payment terms will be clearly defined in a written agreement before onboarding.

Ideal Candidate

Strong ear for songs and production, especially in pop, hip-hop, R&B, Latin, dance, and house.
Deep knowledge of current trends in songwriting, production, and discovery platforms (playlists, charts, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).
Existing network with artists, producers, managers, and/or A&Rs is a plus, but driven self-starters with great taste will also be considered.
Excellent communication, follow-through, and organization skills.
Ability to reliably be in-office in Clifton, NJ, 3 days per week, including Fridays.

Pay: Up to $100,000.00 per year
