Who We Are
Piano Players is directed by Rodrigo and Shannon Vasconcelos.
Rodrigo is a licensed Music Educator, an Examiner for The Royal Conservatory of Music, and an RCM Advanced Piano Specialist who holds a Master's Degree in Music. He began performing with the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra as a young adult and has been awarded various medals and honors throughout his international performance career. Rodrigo has over 20 years of teaching experience and enjoys presenting lectures about pedagogy and student learning strategies at State and National teachers conferences.
Shannon holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music and is a certified ESL (English as a Second Language) Instructor. She has performed with various groups throughout the United States, Europe, and South America. Shannon has been teaching both voice and piano to children and youth for nearly two decades and is dedicated to furthering research concerning the connections between music education and its influence on the success of children in other academic areas.
