Music Engineer (Hip-Hop Artist)

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated Music Engineer to join our creative team and assist in recording, mixing, and producing original hip-hop and R&B music. This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly with an independent hip-hop artist on upcoming projects, studio sessions, and live recording setups.

You’ll gain real-world experience in modern hip-hop production — from tracking vocals to mixing sessions, organizing stems, and preparing releases for streaming platforms.

Responsibilities

Assist in recording sessions: mic setup, session prep, vocal takes, and monitoring levels
Edit, organize, and clean up audio files (Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or FL Studio)
Support the artist and producer with track arrangement and creative input
Manage session files, backups, and version control
Assist with rough mixes, reference masters, and exporting files for distribution
Help with technical troubleshooting (plugins, interface setup, etc.)
Stay up to date on modern hip-hop mixing trends and production techniques

Qualifications

Experience with Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, or FL Studio
Basic understanding of mixing, compression, EQ, and vocal tuning
Passion for hip-hop, rap, R&B, and modern production styles
Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in fast-paced creative sessions
Strong communication skills and positive studio presence
Own laptop and headphones preferred
