The Department of Music Education at Bowling Green State University’s College of Musical Arts invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Music Education and Director of Bands. Tenure-track, 9-month appointment, beginning August 2025.

Bowling Green State University’s College of Musical Arts has earned a reputation as one of the country’s outstanding collegiate music programs. The College enrolls approximately 450 students under the guidance of 55 full-time and 25 part-time faculty. Our comprehensive music curriculum features specialties in music education and contemporary music, including the distinctive DMA in Contemporary Music. The College is home to the MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music, producing an annual New Music Festival and a nationally syndicated radio program. The College’s musical calendar features more than 300 performances and presentations annually by faculty, world renown guest artists, and 30+ student ensembles. BGSU Bands consists of three concert ensembles and two athletic bands, including the Falcon Marching Band. Working collaboratively with the Director of Athletic Bands and band faculty/staff, the Director of Bands leads and facilitates the artistic vision and administrative operations of BGSU Bands. Celebrating its centennial year in 2023-2024, BGSU Bands maintain a storied history and legacy and will continue to honor traditions while embracing innovation into the next century.

BGSU policy requires finalist to authorize and pass a background check prior to receiving an offer of employment.
