Job Summary
Quest Vineyard Church seeks to replace a part-time worship pastor after our beloved, current worship pastor of over four years moves to a new chapter of life. The responsibilities include leading worship, developing leaders and teams, supporting music and worship events, and, as skills allow, leading the sound, lighting, and video teams.
Quest has a large team of talented volunteer musicians, vocalists, and technical people. We also have a solid core of sound and production technicians and are investing in key improvements to equipment and training resources to improve our sound quality further. We are a relationship-oriented church (with God and with others), so we want tasteful, quality production that enhances the experience of relationships but does not become the emphasis or focus.
You would be joining a team with leaders who have successfully helped part-time worship leaders develop and go on to full-time worship roles in much larger churches.
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and multiply worship leaders and worship musicians.
- Administrate Services in Planning Center, including scheduling and posting of sets in a timely fashion.
- Leading rehearsals and additional vocal coaching if qualified to do so.
- Modeling and duplicating in others a sensitivity to the Holy Spirit in the worship setting within the broad tent of Vineyard Values.
- Spiritually lead and care for the people on your teams.
- Work well with the other pastors to construct worship experiences and lead the church.
Requirements
- Core agreement with Vineyard values of worship and the operation of the Holy Spirit in ministry, as well as Quest’s values, guide posts, statement of faith, and policies.
- Experienced leader of people.
- Sensitive to the moving of the Holy Spirit in worship.
- Committed to orthodox Christian beliefs and morality.
- A capable musician
- Able to lead and develop band members and vocalists making the team’s experience rewarding by supplying helpful structure, coaching, and resources to develop quality musicians and leaders of worship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A good eye for lighting as well as the ability to learn to train, as needed, video and lighting technicians.
- Oversight of the sound technicians and encouraging further training to improve sound quality within our system of training resources.
- Solid computer skills and, in particular, the ability to learn and maximize effective use of Planning Center Online to serve the worship team and effectively organize the services.
- Musical flexibility and awareness to keep the music current with the cultures we are serving.
