Job Summary:
We’re looking for a vocal instructor to teach private, one-on-one lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels. This is a contract position with flexible scheduling—teachers set their own availability based on room availability, and we refer students directly to them. Instructors should be comfortable teaching multiple musical styles, tailoring lesson plans to individual needs, and providing progress updates to students and parents. The ability to accompany students on piano is preferred. Strong communication skills and a supportive, student-centered teaching style are key.
- Provide individual vocal instruction
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with students age and ability
- Teach students of various ages and skill levels
- Collaborate with other teachers to coordinate with other students for short performances
- Assess student progress and provide feedback on their musical development to parents
- Maintain a safe learning environment for all students
- Ensure a positive learning atmosphere
- Proficiency in vocal techniques and (preferably) piano accompaniment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities
- Ability to teach multiple skill levels and varying ages in a private one-on one setting. Must be versed in multiple musical genres.
