Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Guitar Instructor to join our team. As a Guitar Instructor, you will have the opportunity to share your love for music and inspire students of all ages to develop their guitar playing skills. This is a paid position that offers a flexible schedule. Applicant must be available THURSDAYS between 2pm and 7:30pm, and other days can be discussed.
Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, and pass criminal background check.
Responsibilities:
- Provide private guitar lessons to students of various ages and skill levels in a music store studio setting, in-person, or with our online enrollment students (in-store).
- Develop personalized lesson plans based on each student's goals and abilities
- Teach proper guitar techniques, including finger placement, strumming patterns, and chord progressions
- Help students learn to read sheet music and guitar tabs
- Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment for students
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Prepare students for recitals, performances, or auditions
Experience:
- Strong proficiency in playing the guitar with a deep understanding of music theory
- Previous experience teaching guitar lessons to students of different ages and skill levels
- Knowledge of various musical genres, including rock, pop, blues, and classical
- Familiarity with different teaching methods and techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Skills: Proficiency on guitar
Other skills (preferred but not required): proficiency in other stringed instruments including ukulele, bass guitar, violin or other orchestral string instruments). While a degree in Music is not required, it is preferred. Or, in lieu a student enrolled in a music college with at least 2 years experience, or 2 years experience or association with a music association, teaching guild, musicians union, etc. will be considered. Must have a strong understanding of music reading and theory.
