Primary Purpose of Organizational UnitThe Division of Academic Affairs provides leadership in developing and maintaining quality academic programs and support services that contribute to the achievement of the university's mission. The division strives to be recognized as a student-centered university with emphasis on excellence in teaching, learning, and scholarly activities; commitment to total student development; and outstanding service and engagement with local, regional, national and global communities.Description of WorkProvide up to 12 hours of individual college level percussion instruction per week, plus one group percussion class. The successful candidate will also work with other faculty as well as diverse community musicians and music groups to create a greater culture of alternative, popular, and commercial music styles within the music program and on campus.Competencies/Knowledge Skills, and Abilities Required in this Position18 hours on the graduate level in percussion. M.M. in Percussion -percussion performance with experience teaching at college level.(preferred)Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies.
