Description
Responsibilities: - Work with students on an individual basis in preparation for upcoming juries and recitals.
- Perform accompaniment for choir rehearsals/concerts, vocal and/or instrumental lessons, juries and recitals.
- Collaborate with Music Program for choir, rehearsal, concert, jury/recital, performance Lab (Fridays from 2:40-3:50pm) and touring needs. Choir rehearsals are the following:
Mondays and Wednesdays: 4:00-5:50pm- Occasionally assist in making musical arrangements for activities and presentations/performances. (i.e. virtual lessons, recordings).
- Establish and maintain effective working and professional relationships with faculty, staff and students.
- Perform other duties as requested, delegated or assigned.
Education and/or Experience: - Advanced piano and sight-reading skills required. This should include open-score and choral score reading as well as reading and performing from a chord chart or lead sheet.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in music as an accompanist, in an academic setting preferred.
- Organist experience preferred.
Technology Skills- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- PC Proficient.
Human Relations Skills- Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adjust to changing work environment and to respond to changing institutional needs.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators throughout the University.
