The Music Department is hiring a resident artist part-time hourly to teach drum set. A specialist is needed for this position to teach private lessons and a studio class to students who are currently enrolled in lessons. In addition, this position provides numerous opportunities to perform for additional compensation with leading professionals in the jazz idiom.
Duties/Responsibilities- 80% - teach weekly private lessons to drum set students
- 10% - teach a weekly studio class to drum set students
- 10% - actively recruiting prospective drum set students to the UNH music department
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:- Bachelors degree with significant experience as a drum set to performer
- Studio teaching experience on drum set
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:- Skill as a drum set performer
- Deep knowledge of various styles/grooves/genres
- Demonstrated ability as a teacher of drum set
Preferred Qualifications:- Masters degree or higher
- Significant professional performing experience with leading artists
- Previous experience teaching drum set at the collegiate level
