DescriptionThe Department of Music at Williams College announces a Visitor in Jazz Studies appointment for the spring semester of 2026.
DUTIES: Direct the Williams Jazz Orchestra. Teach one course in jazz harmony or jazz history, to be determined in consultation with the department.
QualificationsMaster's, doctorate, or equivalent professional experience. Large jazz ensemble conducting and direction as well as experience teaching jazz harmony or jazz history at the college level preferred.

The Department maintains an active musical life with over 130 events each year including those by the Berkshire Symphony, Concert and Chamber Choirs, Jazz Ensemble, Zambezi Marimba Band, Kusika, Williams Chamber Players, Chinese Music Ensemble, Middle Eastern Music Ensemble, I/O New Music, Chamber Orchestra of Williams, student chamber groups, and visiting artists and ensembles.
