Posting Text:Northern State University seeks an engaging, creative, collaborative, and dedicated teacher to serve as a fulltime, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Music Theory/Sound Design
Duties to begin in August 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Teach within the Master of Music Education curriculum and contribute to the new music/arts technology curriculum.
- Teach classes which may include piano, music theory, aural skills, applied composition, sound design or other related courses.
- Collaborate at the piano with faculty and/or students.
- Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and service activities.
- Address other duties assigned by the Music Department Chair or School of Music Dean.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree in music theory or closely related field.
- Ability or potential to teach music theory, composition, and/or sound design.
- Prior experience with sound design
