Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Piano Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about sharing their love of music, patient with students of varying skill levels, and able to create a positive, engaging learning environment. Our program uses Alfred’s piano method books, theory books, and a structured approach designed for beginning students ages 6 and older.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach private piano lessons to students ages 6+ from beginner through intermediate levels.
- Use Alfred’s piano and theory books to provide a consistent and progressive learning experience.
- Develop customized lesson plans while following the studio’s curriculum and learning goals.
- Teach fundamental music theory and technique to ensure a solid foundation.
- Prepare students for a minimum of 1 annual recital
- Provide feedback and communicate progress with parents/guardians regularly.
- Maintain a professional and supportive studio environment.
- Contribute to the growth of the program by encouraging student retention and participation.
Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of piano technique, music theory, and teaching methods for beginners.
- Previous experience teaching children (ages 6+) preferred.
- Familiarity with Alfred’s piano method books and ability to teach from a structured curriculum.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are a must.
- Degree in music (or equivalent training/experience) preferred but not required.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Flexible scheduling with weekday afternoon/evening and/or weekend availability preferred.
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience and education.
