Job Description
Plan, implement and document:
- Music therapy assessments/evaluations/progress reports
- Music therapy sessions
- Music lessons
Attend meetings inclusive of but not limited to:
- Supervision/Collaboration
- ARD Meetings
- Potential Client Consultations
Correspond with clients’ family/guardians for scheduling/documentation purposes
Special events/recitals/festivals
- Expected presence/moral support at assigned events/recitals/festivals
- May help set-up/tear-down/administrate for possible additional compensation, as needed

Position Overview - The Role
Plan, implement and document:
-Music therapy assessments/evaluations. You will administer music therapy evaluations as part of the intake process for new private clients. You will complete music therapy assessments annually for existing private clients. You will complete facility-based music therapy evaluations and assessments in accordance with formal agreements between facilities and A Suite Sound. You will personalize each evaluation/assessment to each client, incorporating related pre-established evaluations/assessments (e.g. IMTAP, SEMTAP, etc.), as necessary. Each evaluation/assessment will conclude with a written report.
-Music therapy sessions. You will administer music therapy sessions in accordance with each client’s established goals. You will recognize and adapt/update goals as necessary for each client. You will be provided with monthly session themes for all populations that you are working with, as well as professional support to ensure quality client care. Ongoing session documentation will be submitted in a timely manner.
-Music lessons. You will teach adapted and traditional music lessons to varied ages and musical levels. In traditional lessons, you will teach curriculum to enhance student ability in music reading, music theory, sight reading, ear training, and music history. You will aid students in their preparation for special events (e.g. state music theory test, music festival auditions, recital preparation, etc.). Lesson notes will be submitted in a timely manner.
Participate in meetings:
-Supervision. You will have routinely scheduled meetings with Crystal to review your performance, set and/or review professional goals, and to receive professional support. As available, you will be provided with additional support from our music therapy technician.
-Client Consultations. You will lead consultations with prospective clients to review A Suite Sound’s Consultation Packet, show off our beautiful facility, and answer any questions.
-ARD Meetings. As your client’s therapist, you will represent A Suite Sound in a professional manner by demonstrating timeliness in attending meetings, submitting documentation, and engaging in respectful communication.
Insight into a Day on the Job
A day working at A Suite Sound may start off by conducting facility-based group and/or private music therapy sessions, followed by teaching traditional and adapted music lessons interspersed with private music therapy sessions at the center for the remaining afternoon and evening. Office hours will be completed throughout the day to complete session/lesson notes, practice/plan for sessions/lessons, communicate with clients and/or attend meetings (eg. ARD, supervision, client consultation, etc.).
