Job Overview
Bee You Music Therapy is seeking a passionate, experienced and skilled board certified Music Therapist to join Bee You Music Therapy on a part time status. The ideal candidate will be qualified to sit for their board exam and or have active and sustained board certification, as well as have a strong understanding of how to utilize music as a therapeutic tool to support individuals in achieving their personal goals and improving their overall well-being, in accordance to AMTA and CBMT standards of practice. This role involves working with diverse populations, including children, individuals with autism, older adults with Alzheimer's/ Dementia and more.
This Music Therapist will collaborate with the owner as well as other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care that addresses many developmental needs, AND will be willing and able to provide supervision for incoming music therapy interns as needed.
Part-Time MTBCs can expect:
- working within a small radius instead of commuting far distances - and be reimbursed $20 per hour of travel
- starting off with a few hours that can act as a "foot in the door" to working with new populations, supplement work you are already doing, AND/OR allow a unique level of flexibility you want/need in your week
- working with a variety of populations - primarily including older adults in memory care, and children with autism and/or demand avoidant profiles - just to name a few!
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions using music interventions tailored to the needs of clients
- Assess and develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate music therapy techniques to enhance patient care
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for clients, including participation in case discussions
- Provide support for patients dealing with addiction, dementia, and other behavioral health issues through quality engaging music interventions
- Educate clients and families about the benefits of music therapy and how it can aid in rehabilitation and developmental growth
- Stay current on best practices in music therapy and participate in ongoing professional development
- Provide supervision For incoming music therapy interns when qualified and able
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC) or eligibility to sit and pass board exams
- Experience working with children and individuals with Autism or ADHD is highly desirable.
- Experience working with dementia is also highly desireable.
- Knowledge of medical documentation practices and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Strong background in both individual and group therapy techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with diverse populations.
- A passion for helping others through music and a commitment to fostering a positive therapeutic environment.
You will also at minimum be required to be up to date on vaccinations and tests (TB, COVID, FLU), have Mandated Reporting Certification, as well as be CPR or BLS Certified.you
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 15 per week
