The part-time music instructor is responsible for teaching music to students in grades 1-8. The teacher will help students grow in their enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of music through a variety of planned activities and experiences. The position typically works Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:30-3:00.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide whole group music instruction to students in grades 1-8.
2. Prepare weekly music age-appropriate lesson plans for students in grades 1-8.
3. Collaborate with The Roberts Academy faculty and staff.
4. Effectively communicate with parents and other stakeholders related to the students.
5. Contribute to the success of The Roberts Academy by performing all other duties as needed to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of Florida Southern College.
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
1. Earned baccalaureate degree in Education, Music, or related field.
2. Fingerprinting clearance and background check including Clearinghouse approval.
3. 3-5 years’ experience working with elementary and/or middle school students.
4. Desire to work with students in a private school learning environment.
5. Patient and enthusiastic about making a difference in student progress.
6. Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
