Medina School of Music is a vibrant, growing music school in a family-friendly suburb of the Twin Cities. We’re hiring piano teachers to teach on Saturdays, with students already waiting for lessons. Our systems and support team are designed so you can focus on teaching, not admin.
We are primarily seeking teachers who are comfortable with beginners through advanced piano students.
What You’ll Do
- Teach private piano lessons to children and teens (beginners to advanced).
- Plan engaging, age-appropriate lessons that balance technique, reading, repertoire, and musical expression.
- Build positive, encouraging relationships with students and families.
- Help prepare students for recitals and studio events.
You’re Supported – You’re Not on an Island
At Medina School of Music, teachers are part of a team. You teach; we handle the logistics:
- Student Care Team – Handles parent communication, scheduling questions, billing, and makeups.
- Faculty Care Coordinator – Onboards and trains new teachers, supports you with pedagogy and our teacher portal, and arranges substitute teachers when you need time off.
- Early Childhood Music Coordinator (ages 4–7) – Your go-to person for our youngest students, with activities, behavior strategies, and age-appropriate resources.
You walk into lessons prepared, supported, and able to focus on music.
Schedule & Commitment
- Saturdays: 9:00AM to 3:30PM.
- We have enough demand to hire multiple Saturday teachers and build stable rosters.
- Typical Saturday teaching time: 3–6 hours, depending on your availability and enrollment.
- Opportunity to add weekday hours in the future if desired.
Who We’re Looking For
- Strong piano skills with healthy technique and musicality.
- Experience teaching children/teens (studio, school, church, camp, etc.).
- Warm, patient, and encouraging teaching style.
- Reliable, professional, and comfortable collaborating with a team.
- Degree in music or music education preferred, but solid playing/teaching experience is also considered.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: Typically $26.00–$45.00 per teaching hour.
- All marketing, billing, and scheduling handled by the office.
- Paid training and ongoing support from our faculty care coordinator.
- In-person teaching at our Medina/Hamel studio—no driving between homes.
