About Us:
Ultimate Music Cruises is a leading promoter of heavy metal and other music festivals. With a strong presence in the global heavy metal media press, we are now looking to expand our reach into mainstream media outlets and other non-traditional channels. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Publicist to join our team and help promote our festivals to broader audiences.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive media strategies to secure coverage in mainstream media.
Coordinate public relations activities.
Media Relations: Work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer for coordinated promotional efforts.
Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, editors, and influencers in the mainstream media space.
Create and pitch compelling press releases, story ideas, and other promotional materials to generate interest and coverage for our festivals.
Coordinate interviews, features, and other media opportunities to increase the festival's visibility beyond the heavy metal community.
Direct Social Media Team to engage audiences across traditional and new media.
Coordinate public relations campaigns with our European public relations agency.
Monitor and analyze media coverage and sentiment.
Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results.
Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis.
Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them.
Event Coordination: Partner in media coverage and activations during festivals and press-related events.
Assisting with various production duties before and during the execution of events.
Additional Responsibilities:
Copywriting: Ability to craft engaging and effective copy for various promotional materials.
Newsletter: Oversight of the festival's newsletter, including content creation and coordination with relevant teams.
Press Release Writing and Distribution: Collaborate on multimedia press releases for optimized digital distribution.
Manage Media inquiries and interview requests.
Act as Press Contact (Worldwide excluding Europe), Social Media Support, and liaison with media partners.
Media Partner Deals: Negotiate and manage media partner deals in collaboration with our team.
Ad Deadlines & Coordination: Liaise with our team for ad deadlines and coordination.
Paid Marketing Campaigns: Collaborate with the team for paid marketing campaigns.
Staff Photographer Selection & Coordination: Collaborate with the team in selecting and coordinating staff photographers, managing schedules, and updating guidelines and contracts.
Updating Press Features and Media Lounge: Work with the IT department and press team to update relevant festival pages and provide marketing photos for the year.
Festival Magazine: Oversee the coordination of band bio text, ad booking, delivery, and invoicing for the festival magazine.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Publicist, with a successful track record of securing coverage in mainstream media outlets.
Strong existing relationships with journalists and media outlets in the entertainment and lifestyle space.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to generate unique angles for media coverage.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Knowledge of the heavy metal music industry is a plus.
Have a valid passport and be able to travel.
