The following position is an anticipated opening in the Elgin Local Schools for the 2026-2027 school year:
Position: Middle School/High School Vocal Music Teacher
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Proper Certification/Licensure
BCI/FBI clearance
Essential Functions:
Instruct students in singing techniques, music theory, and performance, fostering musical growth across various styles. Teach music theory and sight reading skills
Plan and implement music lessons, incorporating varied genres and styles.
Assess student abilities and provide individualized feedback to improve vocal skill, often preparing them for auditions or competitions.
Organize rehearsals, concerts, and possibly musical theater productions.
Maintain student records and manage school-owned instruments/music libraries.
Salary: To Be Determined based on negotiated salary schedule
Contract Days: 183 days
