Part Time Instructor - Music (MUSI)The Blinn College District is searching for a Part Time Instructor - Music (MUSI) at our Bryan Campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:Job Summary Perform part-time operations for the instructional program in music.
Principal Accountabilities- Teach core curriculum music classes as assigned by the Dean, Assistant Dean, or Department Head. Class will be held on the Bryan Campus and may include a Distance Education component.
- Provide instruction for courses at a variety of times and locations
- Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence
- Maintain regular office hours and access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication
- Prepare and utilize a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution
- Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies, delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources.
- Evaluate students' performance through a variety of means to measure progress and keep them informed in a timely manner
- Assist in the development, distribution, and collection of assessments for course and program objectives
- Provide recommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Head, and Curriculum Resource Team regarding curriculum
- Demonstrate a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community
- Submit timely reports and forms to the appropriate division/department
- Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities
- Possess a passion for teaching community college students
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and orally
- Attend college orientation and required institutional meetings
- Serve on division and/or college committees
- Responsible for other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or CertificationsMaster's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in music.

Minimum Competencies- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other instructors, staff, administration and students.
- Ability to instruct students while achieving the course learning objectives.
Preferred Qualifications- Ability to teach core curriculum lecture courses such as Music Appreciation and History of Rock & Popular Music
- College level teaching experience
- Distance Education experience, preferably to include certification on the latest edition of the Quality Matters Rubric
