Summary:
Jim’s Music is a family-owned music store with a focus on instrument sales, repairs, lessons, and rentals. We are seeking a full-time Assistant Store Manager to help run and grow our Iron Mountain location. The right candidate will have the opportunity for promotion into store leadership and management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Help customers find instruments and gear with a strong sales and customer service focus
- Assist customers with lesson sign-ups, rentals, and repair intake
- Learn and use our point-of-sale and inventory management system
- Maintain an inviting store environment through merchadising
- Answer phones and customer messages while providing excellent customer service
- Support marketing and local community relationships
- Eventually grow into store leadership and management responsibilities including hiring and training of store employees, inventory management, and driving sales performance
Skills/Qualifications:
- Music retail or sales experience is strongly preferred - but not required for the right candidate
- Excellent listening and verbal communication skills with a customer service focus
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks and effectively prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines
- Ability to gain quick understanding of POS system and technology
- Musical background or knowledge of musical instruments preferred
- Interest in a long-term career in music retail and management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
