Educational Representative - Instrumental Music (Albany, Georgia)
Portman’s Music is seeking a passionate and results-oriented Educational Representative to develop and maintain strong relationships with middle and high school band directors and students in the Albany, Georgia region. This role involves promoting and selling our comprehensive range of band & orchestral instrument rentals, step-ups, accessories, method books, and providing exceptional support to music education programs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to effectively reach middle and high school band programs in the Albany, south Georgia area.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with band directors, students, and school administrators.
- Present and demonstrate the features and benefits of our instrumental music products and services.
- Understand the specific needs and challenges of individual band programs and offer tailored solutions.
- Attend school concerts, festivals, and other music-related events to support the music community and build rapport.
- Provide product knowledge training and support to band directors and students.
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, customer service) to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions.
- Stay informed about current trends and developments in music education.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets within the assigned territory.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or Business degree with a strong music background.
- Previous experience in music education (teaching band preferred), music retail sales.
- Strong working knowledge of a wide range of band instruments and instrumental music pedagogy.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport and establish trust with educators and students.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
- Passion for music education and a commitment to supporting school music programs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel within the Augusta area.
