Title: Upper School Band Teacher
Job Status: Beginning in the 2026-27 academic year, Full-time, Exempt, 10-month
Salary Range: $62,758 to $104,952 annually based on degree and experience

Job Summary:
We seek an experienced educator who is passionate, collaborative, and reflective to join our Performing Arts Department to teach at least one of the following disciplines: beginning band, intermediate band, advanced band (wind ensemble), and/or assisting with the jazz or marching band. Experience or expertise in all of these fields is preferred.
The position requires active participation in our vibrant learning community and an educator who will inspire and support our students. The role also requires ongoing collaboration with teaching teams at the course and departmental level. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of music education, strong instructional practice, and a genuine love of teaching within a mission-driven independent school environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related discipline.
- Minimum of three years of experience teaching beginning and intermediate level (grades 6-9), concert band courses, and/or advanced levels (grades 9-12).
- Excellent written and verbal communication and proficiency in educational technology.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Ability to see and hear within normal parameters with or without correction.
- Full range of head, neck, and back movement; unrestricted ability to bend knees, raise arms above the head, and to move hands, fingers, and wrists.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds without difficulty.
- Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for sustained periods of time.
- Must successfully pass fingerprinting, background checks, and TB clearance due to working in proximity to children.
