The School of Music, in the College of Fine Arts and Communication, has an enrollment of over 200 music majors and minors with over 50 faculty and staff. The school is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.
Job Duties:The School of Music seeks qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Violin. This is a 9-month, tenure-track, benefits-eligible appointment to begin August 2026. Primary responsibilities will be to teach, recruit and maintain an undergraduate and graduate violin studio and possible additional duties based on the interests of the applicant and the needs of the School. The successful candidate will be expected to continue an active performing career, both outside of the university and at the School of Music. The successful candidate will demonstrate high potential for recruitment.
Minimum Education/Experience:Masters degree in music required. Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Applicants must demonstrate evidence of excellence in teaching. Outstanding artistry in solo performance, chamber music, and/or ensemble performance experience is also required. The successful candidate must demonstrate high potential for recruiting and maintaining an outstanding studio.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation:None
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:Earned DMA or PhD. Established record of college music teaching, performance, and scholarship.
