The University of South Carolina School of Music is accepting applications for a Professional-Track, Instructor of Music History andMusic Theatre, beginning August 16, 2026. This is a 9-month, non-tenure-track position.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching dutieswill primarily include course in the Music History progressions, as well as specialty courses in Film Music, Music Theatre, and Opera.Additional collaborations are expected in vocal coaching and/or collaborative piano. Participation in student recruitment and other facultyactivities is expected.
QUALIFICATIONS: PhD in Musicology. A minimum of two years teaching experience at the undergraduatelevel is preferred. Teaching and/or research in Film Music and Scoring, American Music, and special topics in Opera and Music Theatrepreferred.
