JOB SUMMARY
Mayflower seeks a musician who is comfortable using the two manual Moller pipe organ and seven foot grand piano to support the worship service. The musician will also serve as director for a small group of volunteer vocalists who sing during the service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as organist/pianist/choir director at weekly 9:30 worship service. Conduct one choir rehearsal per week. Rehearse choir before Sunday morning service.
Work in partnership with the pastor, follow the prescribed lectionary for choosing hymns from the New Century hymnal and from worship sources, provide music for prelude, offertory and postlude using different worship styles.
Provide music for Christmas services and Easter services as decided by the pastor. Provide music for weddings/memorial services.
Maintain choral library
Supervise maintenance of the organ and other musical instruments
Arrange for substitute organist/pianist during any time of absence
QUALIFICATIONS
Organ/piano proficiency
Ability to conduct vocalists from the keyboard
Organizational and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $20,000.00 per year
