Shepherd of the Sierra is searching for a music director. This is a paid position—up to 25 hours per week—that requires selecting and preparing music for Sunday services; directing ensembles, including the adult choir, handbell choir, and praise team; planning and directing music for special events; and providing vision and direction for the music ministry. Administrative responsibilities include maintaining the music library, managing the music budget, and communicating regularly with office staff and musicians for planning purposes. The ideal candidate will have experience leading music in a worshipping community; skill in leading rehearsals and directing performances in traditional and contemporary musical styles; strong planning, organization, and communication skills; and the ability to work with musicians at all levels of proficiency. A minimum of two years of college coursework in music or the equivalent training and experience is required.
