- Develop and implement individualized music therapy treatment plans tailored to patients’ needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or mental health challenges.
- Conduct both individual and group therapy sessions utilizing various modalities such as behavioral therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and recreational therapy to enhance patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including the Medical Director, Social Workers, and Registered Nurse Case Managers—to coordinate care and document progress accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize CPT coding and other billing practices for documentation of services provided in outpatient or hospice care settings.
- Engage patients through creative musical interventions aimed at improving communication, reducing anxiety, managing addiction issues, or supporting recovery processes.
- Maintain detailed medical records and ensure all documentation aligns with healthcare standards and legal requirements.
- Participate in ongoing training related to behavioral health, dementia care, pediatrics, and other specialized areas to continually refine your therapeutic skills.
- Proven experience applying behavioral therapy techniques within music therapy contexts.
- Knowledge of medical documentation practices including CPT coding and HIPAA compliance.
- Experience providing mental health counseling through individual or group sessions.
- Familiarity with hospice care protocols and dementia care strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and engaging patients effectively.
