We are seeking a spiritually grounded, musically gifted individual to lead our church’s worship music and praise ministry. This part-time position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading worship music for weekly services and special events. The ideal candidate will have strong musical and technical skills, a passion for Christ-centered worship, and the ability to lead and grow a volunteer praise team in a small church setting.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and lead musical worship for Sunday morning services.
- Select music that aligns with the message and theology of the church.
- Lead, rehearse with, and coordinate the praise team if desired (vocalists and instrumentalists).
- Foster a spirit of unity, spiritual growth, and musical excellence within the team.
- Schedule and lead regular team practices once established.
- Coordinate with the Pastor and church leadership on service planning.
- Learn to assist with operating audio/visual equipment, including sound, slides, and livestream when necessary.
- Learn to assist with preparing and uploading lyrics and service plans to presentation software (e.g., ProPresenter, PowerPoint, Planning Center, etc.).
- Encourage congregational participation in worship through thoughtful leadership.
- Stay current with worship music trends while respecting the church’s traditional and contemporary blend.
Qualifications:
- A committed Christian with a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
- Musical proficiency in voice and at least one accompanying instrument (guitar or piano preferred) with the ability to read music or chord charts and arrange songs as needed.
- Experience leading worship in a church setting preferred.
· Technical proficiency with sound systems, microphones, projectors, and livestream software. Must be capable of learning Pro-Presenter, Multi-Tracks and other software is preferred.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Humble, teachable, and team-oriented spirit.
Additional Information:
- This is a part-time position with flexible weekly hours, mandatory Sunday mornings and minimal midweek rehearsals or special services (e.g., Christmas, Easter).
- A background check will be required.
Pay: $19.00 per hour
