This is a full-time, nine-month interim faculty position.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music education
- Supervise clinical teachers and support field-based experiences
- Maintain visibility and build strong relationships with elementary, middle, and high school music programs across Texas
- Collaborate with the Coordinator of Music Education to support program growth and development
- Teach up to five 3-credit courses per semester
- Additional responsibilities may include advising, assisting student teachers, and thesis/dissertation supervision
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:- Education: Master's degree in Music, Music Education, Education, or a related field
- Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Minimum of three years of public-school teaching experience
- Demonstrated record of teaching excellence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to mentor and guide students effectively
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities
- Collaborative approach to working with faculty, staff, and students
- Strong understanding of varied music education practices and repertoire
- Licensing/Professional Certifications: Texas All-Level Music certification

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:- Doctoral degree in Music, Music Education, Education, or a related field
- ABD in Music, Music Education, Education, or a related field
- Evidence of successful teaching at the EC-12 level and in higher education
- Experience recruiting and building music education programs
- Experience hosting or supervising clinical teachers
- Background in community engagement or school partnerships
- Proficiency in music technology and learning management systems
- Strength in music theory, history, and/or performance
- Active engagement in scholarly or creative activity
- Certification in Orff Schulwerk and/or Kodály
