Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the building principal, to support student learning by providing piano accompaniment and assistance to music teachers while working with students.
Essential Job Functions
- Provides piano accompaniment to the music department for classes, concerts, rehearsals, and a robust show choir department.
- Improvises accompaniments from lead sheets
- Assists in preparation for concerts include program coordination, guest performers, stage setup and teardown on an as needed basis
- Assists with section rehearsals and performs related work
- Assists the classroom teacher in maintaining a classroom environment conductive to learning
- Maintains a regular and predictable attendance history while employed by the district
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal and other central office administrators as designed by the Superintendent.
Qualifications Profile
- Valid Nebraska drivers license or ability to provide own transportation for district related events
- Professional level ability to play the piano, organ, harpsichord or electronic keyboard
