POSITION TITLE: Program Manager
RESPONSIBLE TO: Executive Director
CLASSIFICATION: Hourly with approximately 15 hours per week (average). Some weekends and evenings are required.
Northeast Iowa School of Music is seeking a dynamic, ambitious, and community-oriented person to run our off-site programming. The Program Manager is responsible for directing off-site community programming, school events, performances, and external communications; carrying out the goals of Northeast Iowa School of Music; and assisting the Executive Director with other projects as requested.
The person who takes this role will be given resources to accomplish the assigned responsibilities, including potential grant funding, financial incentives, and professional development and training. We are seeking an individual whom we can invest in to grow into more organizational responsibility.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in music, arts administration, education, nonprofit management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of experience and education). Music experience is desirable but no required
- Experience planning and executing live events
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience in community outreach and partnership development
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise off-site programs. Manage outreach programs, including L&MOP, after-school programs, Creative Aging, and special events.
- Manage fundraiser events and concerts, overseeing planning, publicity, and coordination with performers and sponsors.
- Coordinate rehearsals and public performances of school ensembles, including the Dubuque Community String Orchestra and the New Horizons Band, in cooperation with conductors and venues.
- Plan all student recitals, manage sign-ups, prepare programs, schedule accompanists, and secure locations.
- Assist with set-up and tear-down for off-site events as needed.
- Distribute posters, flyers, newsletters, and brochures in cooperation with the Executive Director and Office Manager as needed.
- Prepare and distribute press releases as needed.
- Develop and maintain contact lists for local schools, private music teachers, preschool services, senior centers, and other potential community partners.
- Seek opportunities for Northeast Iowa School of Music to be visible in the community.
- Submit bimonthly Board Reports.
- Maintain a minimum of 3 weekly Office Hours.
- Attend and contribute to bi-weekly staff meetings.
- Project a positive image of Northeast Iowa School of Music and represent the school at meetings, workshops, seminars, and public events as requested.
- Comply with Northeast Iowa School of Music Personnel Policies and Procedures and all other Northeast Iowa School of Music policies/regulations.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
