The Opportunity:
West Liberty University isseeking applications for a Visiting Faculty- Director of Bands and Percussion member. The Department of Music & Theatre at West LibertyUniversity is seeking applications for a Full-time Visiting Professor of Music to serve as Director of Bands and Percussion* instructor.
Essential Functions of the position:
- Direct the Marching Hilltoppers and Concert Band
- Direct other ensembles asneeded by the program and according to the candidate's expertise
- Coordinate instruments and equipment related to the duties of aDirector of Bands
- Teach Applied Lessons. *Percussion is preferred but woodwinds and high brass candidates will also beconsidered
- Teach other courses as needed by the program and according to the candidate's expertise and experience
- LeadRecruitment efforts for all degrees: Music Education, Music Performance, and Music Technology
- Positively represent the program,department, college, and university at on-campus and off-campus performances and other events
Education & ExperienceRequirements:
- Masters degree in Music required, Doctorate preferred
- Percussionist preferred but woodwinds and highbrass candidates will also be considered
- Experience leading collegiate Marching Band and Concert Band is required
- SteelBand experience is preferred

A faculty member is expected to participate incontinuous improvement in the areas of teaching, professional development, and service to the University and community. Salary will becommensurate with experience.
