About EUSMC
Now celebrating its 50th anniversary, Eastern US Music Camp is a beloved residential music camp for students ages 12–18 held on the beautiful campus of Colgate University in Hamilton, NY. Each summer, campers grow as musicians and as people through intensive ensemble work, private instruction, workshops, and performance. Our counselors are the heart of that experience — mentors, musicians, and community-builders all in one.
Position Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and musically experienced individuals to serve as Camp Counselors for the 2026 summer season. Counselors play a vital role in both the musical and residential life of the camp, supporting campers in a safe, structured, and joyful environment.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and assist with camp ensembles as a musician and supportive presence
- Supervise and escort campers between activities, meals, rehearsals, and events
- Maintain camper safety and well-being throughout all daily activities
- Assist faculty and staff with general camp operations and duties as assigned
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for young musicians ages 12–18
- Participate in evening and weekend programming, including performances and social activities
- Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive camp culture
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older (high school diploma or equivalent required)
- Background or demonstrated experience in music (instrumental or vocal)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with young people
- Reliable, responsible, and a team player
- Prior experience with youth programs, summer camps, or music education is a plus
- Ability to commit to the full duration of camp (June 27 – July 19, 2026)

Pay: $500.00 - $750.00 per month
