About the Role
Empower Behavioral Health is seeking full‑time Elementary Music Teachers to support Kenai AK‑area schools for the 2026–2027 school year. These are in‑person roles serving students across multiple elementary campuses, providing instruction in general music, choir, and introductory instrumental programs depending on campus needs.
We are gathering candidates now, and the district is interviewing over the next week.
Responsibilities
- Teach general music to elementary students using developmentally appropriate curriculum
- Lead choral instruction, rhythm activities, and foundational music literacy
- Introduce students to instrumental concepts (recorders, percussion, Orff instruments, etc.)
- Create engaging lessons that support creativity, expression, and musical growth
- Prepare students for performances, concerts, and school‑wide musical events
- Maintain a positive, structured, student‑centered learning environment
- Collaborate with campus staff, administrators, and related arts educators
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and classroom materials

Requirements
- Active or eligible Alaska teaching certification with Music endorsement
- Experience teaching elementary music, choir, or instrumental foundations preferred

- Prior school‑based experience preferred
