You teach. I handle everything else.
Monaco Violin Studio is a fully online music studio based in New Jersey. I'm Honor, a violin teacher, and I'm building a studio of students who learn entirely over video — along with the systems that make that actually work.
I'm expanding beyond violin and hiring one teacher in piano and one in guitar.
What you'd do
Teach. That's the role. I find the students, handle enrollment, scheduling, billing, and payment collection. You never chase a parent for an overdue invoice, never build a website, never run an ad. You show up and teach.
Pay
- $30 per 30-minute lesson
- $42 per 45-minute lesson · $54 per 60-minute lesson
- Paid weekly
- Independent contractor (1099). Hours are not guaranteed — you're paid per lesson taught, and we build your schedule up over time
- Any students you already teach stay entirely your own. I don't bill them, don't touch them, and take nothing from them. This applies only to students I bring you
- Opportunity to run short paid weekend workshops available as the studio grows
Fully online — and that matters more than people expect
No commuting. No gas. No miles on your car. No unpaid half-hour drive between students. If you've taught in homes, you know a six-lesson day can mean two hours behind the wheel nobody pays for, and a schedule built around traffic instead of teaching. Here your lessons sit back to back if you want them to.
You need a computer, a quiet room, and genuinely good internet.
Who this suits
Early in your career — a graduate student or recent graduate who wants consistent students and real teaching experience without spending a year building a studio from nothing.
Established and filling gaps — you already have a studio and a rate you're happy with, but open slots you'd rather not spend your weekends marketing to fill. An empty hour earns nothing. This fills it without adding to your admin load.
Requirements
- Real teaching experience with beginners and intermediate students. Most of my pipeline is beginners.
- Demonstrated ability to teach over video — not "willing to try it," but you've done it and can show me
- Warmth with kids and clear communication with parents
- Reliability. Families notice consistency more than anything else
- Willing to work as an independent contractor
This is not a fit if you need a guaranteed full schedule on day one. I'm starting small and growing deliberately. After I hire the right teacher, I will source students. The studio does not support students under the age of 11, and you should expect to find yourself with many adult students.
How to apply
Send the following to honormonaco@gmail.com:
- A short note on how you teach — your philosophy in a paragraph, not a resume summary
- Your CV or background (unless
- A video of you actually teaching over video. A few minutes is plenty. A lesson excerpt with a real student is ideal, with their family's permission. If you don't have one, record yourself demonstrating your setup and walking through how you'd open a first lesson with a beginner
- Your instrument and general availability
Studio policies — scheduling, makeups, cancellations, payment terms — are at [WEBSITE]. Please read them before applying.
I read every application personally and respond to everyone.
