Part-Time Advanced Piano Teacher - South Pasadena
The South Pasadena Arts and Music Academy is expanding and looking for an excellent university-trained teacher to join our piano faculty and teach part-time regularly. We are in need of someone who can teach 1-2 days per week on a consistent schedule.
If qualified, you would start immediately. This is an in-person position.
Piano Teacher must be classically trained, willing and able to teach children and adults, and able to provide instruction for our most advanced piano students as well as beginning and intermediate players. This teacher will also be asked to coach chamber music ensembles, and teach a group keyboard class.
Candidates must be available to teach on Saturdays (10am-5pm) and Sundays (10am-3pm) in South Pasadena. Most lessons will be private one-on-one, but candidates should also be open to group instruction.
Requirements for all positions (we will not consider anyone who does not meet these requirements):
-2+ years of experience teaching to a diverse student base with a focus on private one-on-one instruction
-Teacher must have taught a minimum of 25 different students (adults and children) in the past 3-5 years
-Extensive music education (BA or equivalent, Masters preferred)
-Ability to teach children and adults from beginner to intermediate to advanced
-Ability to handle a weekly roster of 10+ students
-Commit to teach current schedule for a minimum of one year
-Open-minded, warm and patient
-Reliable, flexible and responsible - Can make commitment to teaching regularly, with little or no need for a sub
-Team Player, respectful of others, great attitude
