Piano Instructor, Avalon School of Music (Allen Location)
Avalon School of Music is a growing music school with 2 locations in North Texas, and we have openings for talented piano instructors to join our team in Allen. As we have grown, all of our current piano instructors are full, and we're looking to bring on either one instructor who can teach 5 days a week, or two instructors whose combined schedules cover 5-6 days a week.
We're looking for a piano instructor who can teach all ages, from about 5 years old through adults, though the focus of this position will be younger students at the beginner to intermediate level. The ideal candidate has experience teaching all ages and excellent teaching and communication skills. We only teach private 1-on-1 lessons, and each instructor has their own private studio. We encourage each teacher to tailor materials to each student and focus lessons on the areas where the student needs the most help.

Requirements:
We prefer some teaching experience, and a music degree is ideal. You may substitute playing/performing experience for a degree, but we're looking for a good working knowledge of music theory and sight reading, and the ability to demonstrate your technical skills. We highly value great communication skills and the ability to make lessons fun for students. You will be asked to sight read sample music during the interview process.
Schedule:
We are looking for either one instructor available 4-5 days a week, or two instructors whose combined availability covers 5-6 days a week (Monday through Saturday). We are open weekdays from 2pm-8pm and Saturdays from 10am-4pm. Schedules are based on your availability, and most weekday lessons begin at 3pm or later. Pay rate: $30-40 per hour, depending on experience.
This is a 1099 contractor position. We perform background checks and drug tests on all instructors. We are an equal opportunity employer.
