Jennifer Paschal Voice & Piano, a well-established music studio in Midtown Raleigh near North Hills, is seeking an engaging and reliable Children's Music Class Leader to teach our established children’s group programs.
Our Piano Discovery and Sing&Play programs serve children ages 4–9 and combine foundational musicianship with active, age-appropriate learning. We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, has a solid musical background, is comfortable at the piano, and can create a class environment that is warm, structured, and engaging.
The immediate priority is our children’s group programs, with opportunities to add private piano and/or voice students depending on the teacher’s background and availability.
Training, curriculum, and teaching resources are provided.
Responsibilities
* Teach small-group Piano Discovery and Sing&Play classes for children ages 4–9
* Teach beginning piano, singing, rhythm, note reading, technique, and foundational musicianship
* Use and adapt the studio’s curriculum to support individual students within a group setting
* Create engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities
* Manage classroom behavior and transitions confidently and positively
* Track student progress and communicate with families
* Prepare students for studio performances and special events
* Participate in paid training, teacher meetings, and collaboration with the studio team
* Potentially teach private piano and/or voice lessons based on experience and availability
Qualifications
* Experience teaching or working with children
* Comfortable at the piano and able to teach beginning-level piano skills
* Solid general musicianship, including rhythm, note reading, and basic music theory
* Comfortable singing and leading musical activities with children
* Ability to lead structured, engaging small-group classes
* Strong communication and classroom-management skills
* Willingness to complete a background check
* Availability to teach consistently during the school year
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience teaching beginning piano or general music
* Experience with elementary-age or early childhood music instruction
* Background in creative movement, ensemble instruction, or other arts education
Schedule
This is a part-time, in-person position at our Midtown Raleigh studio near North Hills.
Our current teaching needs are primarily Monday–Thursday afternoons, beginning around 3:15 PM. Candidates with availability across multiple weekday afternoons are preferred.
Start date: October 2026
Optional summer teaching opportunities are available.
