About UNITED Music School:
UNITED Music School (UMS) serves over 400 student musicians weekly in our state of the art studios located in the lower wing of the UNITED Theatre in Westerly, Rhode Island. Our faculty teaches private lessons on piano, woodwinds, brass, guitar, voice, violin, brass, percussion and more! In addition to private instruction, UMS offers jazz, rock and pop ensembles, camps and classes, and a variety of other programs. Our mission is to enrich lives through personalized professional instruction and collaborative programs.
Job Description:
Looking for a part-time piano teacher with at least one day of availability to teach individual one-on-one lessons. Looking for pedagogically minded, student-centered instruction, curated to the individual needs of each student. Additional skills include excellent reliability (minimal scheduling conflicts), communication skills, and a willingness for professional collaboration. Ensemble teaching experience a plus. Requirements: A qualified applicant would have experience teaching all ages (typically age 7 through adult), with expertise in best practices of instruction methods. Minimum degree: Bachelor of Music or Music Education, BFA, or advanced degree (or equivalent in performance and teaching experience).
