About College-Conservatory of (CCM)
CCM's voice department is a highly collaborative, multi-dimensional area of the Performance Studies Division, offering BM, MM, and DMA degree programs. Voice teachers also teach Artist Diploma students and may teach Musical Theatre students.

Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), a nationally prominent comprehensive college for the performing and media arts, seeks an experienced voice teacher and performing artist (tenor) for a full-time tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor appointment, intended to begin August 15, 2025. Rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials. Initial appointment is three (3) years, after which the faculty member is eligible for reappointment.
Essential Functions
- Serve as voice teacher-in-residence
- Teach undergraduate and graduate applied voice lessons to voice and musical theatre majors
- Teach weekly studio classes
- Teach literature, pedagogy, and related classes as needed
- Recruit and retain students of exceptional promise
- Advise doctoral students on capstone projects, theses, and lecture recitals
- Coach chamber ensembles and teach masterclasses
- Maintain regional, national, and international visibility through solo, chamber, and/or orchestral performances, teaching, and/or research
- Serve the college and university community through activities such as committee membership, academic advising, and mentorship of students
Minimum Requirements
Prior to the effective date of the appointment, the successful candidate must have either:
1. A Master's Degree in Music or related field in addition to a total of two (2) years of experience in voice. Such experience must encompass two (2) years of professional performance experience as well as two (2) academic years of professional teaching experience, which can, but need not, be contemporaneous to the professional performance experience.
OR
2. A Bachelor's Degree in Music or related field in addition to a total of seven (7) years of experience in voice. Such experience must encompass five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate work experience in voice (such as instructing clinics/masterclasses/workshops, coaching, publishing scholarly or pedagogical works, recording projects, or touring), as well as two (2) years of professional performance experience and two academic years of professional teaching experience, which can, but need not, be contemporaneous to the professional performance experience.
