Reference Assistant Conservatory Library

You will staff the Information Desk in the Conservatory Library and assist patrons with reference queries. Reffies provide information about music (printed and recorded), books and articles, brief answers to factual questions, and suggestions for sources which might help answer questions. You will be using our extensive collection of print and electronic resources. In addition, you will assist with preparation of local reference tools.

 Willingness to continue learning and growing with the job and to accept increasing responsibility
 Reliability, punctuality, and a solid music background

Qualifications

Should be in or have taken MUSY 101/MHST 101. Team player; Able to work independently; Problem solver; Good attention to detail; Must be dependable, with a clear sense of responsibility for fulfilling scheduled work assignments.

Paid training (2 hours per week) to begin the spring semester; the position will be five hours per week once you start working the reference desk.
