Carl Fischer Music is seeking a full time Music Licensing Associate. The ideal candidate will have a general understanding of music publishing and copyright, and have previous experience in this field.

Responsibilities:

Process incoming licensing inquiries
Issue licenses, administer document execution, and follow-up for payment
Create and manage digital record of fully executed license agreements
Research status of copyrights dates, royalty rates, and publication info
Prepare licensee databases and assist in licensing marketing activities
Register new titles with performing rights organizations (ASCAP, BMI)
Enter contract and transaction data into licensing database
Filing, photocopying, and various administrative functions
Collaborate with royalty and accounting departments to process transactions and statements
Research and review legal documents for accuracy and completion
Assist in the analysis of revenue sources and income
Assist with annual royalty review with the Royalty Manager
Assist Editors with filling out template composer agreements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required
Experience in music or book publishing or in licensing is required
Knowledge/background in classical music is essential
Strong customer service and fee negotiation skills
Proactive and creative problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and efficiently
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Organized and detail-oriented
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and learn new systems and processes
High proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word)
Knowledge of Excel Macros/JavaScript or Python a plus

Compensation will depend upon prior experience. Excellent benefits package offered after 3 months of employment.
