Carl Fischer Music is seeking a full time Music Licensing Associate. The ideal candidate will have a general understanding of music publishing and copyright, and have previous experience in this field.

Responsibilities:
- Process incoming licensing inquiries
- Issue licenses, administer document execution, and follow-up for payment
- Create and manage digital record of fully executed license agreements
- Research status of copyrights dates, royalty rates, and publication info
- Prepare licensee databases and assist in licensing marketing activities
- Register new titles with performing rights organizations (ASCAP, BMI)
- Enter contract and transaction data into licensing database
- Filing, photocopying, and various administrative functions
- Collaborate with royalty and accounting departments to process transactions and statements
- Research and review legal documents for accuracy and completion
- Assist in the analysis of revenue sources and income
- Assist with annual royalty review with the Royalty Manager
- Assist Editors with filling out template composer agreements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience in music or book publishing or in licensing is required
- Knowledge/background in classical music is essential
- Strong customer service and fee negotiation skills
- Proactive and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and learn new systems and processes
- High proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word)
- Knowledge of Excel Macros/JavaScript or Python a plus
Compensation will depend upon prior experience. Excellent benefits package offered after 3 months of employment.
